 June 2012

Are you noticing Street Lights out or blinking?  While street light maintenance is done by Consumer's Energy, any one can report problems.  When reporting a street light problem please have the following information: 1)nearest cross street 2)nearest address 3)city 4)county 5)the problem (blinking/out/vandalized) 6)Township 7)Pole number, if possible.
If this is used to light a bus stop please provided that information as well, as this may increase priority.
REPORTING THE PROBLEM -> You can do this by directly contacting Consumers Energy by calling 1-800-477-5050 or using their
online form:
www.consumersenergy.com/bdisu/streetLightRepair_start.sap.  Or contact Dalton Township and we'll report the problem: 231-766-3043 ext 406 or deptreas@daltontownship.org.
*Please keep in mind that Consumer's Energy can take up to 5-7 business days to fix/correct the problem.

Dalton Township is accepting Bids for Concrete Work.  Bids are being requested for a 4" concrete slab located under an existing pavilion.  The building size is 24' x 32' = 768sf.  The project is at Beegle Field located at 515 Tyler Road Muskegon, MI  49445.  Bids should be submitted to Dalton Township 1616 E. Riley Thompson Road  Muskegon, MI  49445.  231-766-3043.
Bid Deadline is Friday, June 29th, 2012.

Consumer's Energy will begin their installation of Smart Meters in Muskegon County in August 2012.  Installations in Muskegon County will be completed in 2013.  Corix Utilities, an experienced meter installation vendor, is performing the majority of the installations as Consumer's authorized contractor.  The General Electric smart meters are provided by SmartSynch; the meters will use telephone networks to transmit data securely from the meter to Consumers Energy.  Consumers Energy will be mailing written communications to customer's homes and businesses as they move closer to meter installation.  Updated information will also be added to their website: www.consumersenergy.com/smartgrid.  They also suggest visiting the following 3 websites for more information: www.smartgrid.gov; www.smartgrid.eei.org; www.mpsc.org;
If you have questions or concerns feel free to contact Smart Grid Communicatons Coordinator Roger Morgenstern at 1-517-788-0091 or roger.morgenstern@cmsenergy.com

*Look below (in May's information) for a list of spraying/surveys to be completed on Twin, Middle, West, and North Lakes.

Few changes to the website.  We're working on making it easier to use.  1) As you see by the tabs to the left, there's fewer, and it's more organized.  2) Currently the contacts page has been updated and now includes Muskegon County contacts as well as Dalton Township's.  3) There has been a page added called "Boards and Commissions."  If you're interested in the groups (boards/commissions) that help make township decisions visit that page; you'll also find the term expiration dates for all of the board/commission members.

Website changes in the works: I hope to have a list of veterans on the cemetery page by the end of the year as well as more information on the parks & trails page.  If you have any suggestions or comments on what you'd like to see on the website, please let me know:
deptreas@daltontownship.org
